How to set up a credit card payment?
When upgrading to a paid plan for the first time, you'll be asked to:
- Select the plan you'd like to subscribe to,
- Fill up your billing information,
- Add your credit card information.
For this last step, you will see a summary of the plan you are going to subscribe to and a form to fill up your credit card details:
After clicking on Next
at the bottom of the page, you will receive a confirmation message and an email with your payment receipt.
How to update a credit card?
To update your credit card, you can go to the Payment Method
page under the Billing
section of your account settings or directly via the following link: https://console.cloudinary.com/settings/billing/payment_method
On this page, you will see the current credit card in place and you can edit it by clicking on the pencil icon:
You will then be able to update your credit card details:
What to do if the payment fails?
Cloudinary will collect the payment on your billing day, if it fails, you will receive an email notifying you of the payment failure and Cloudinary will retry the payment as described below:
- 7 days after your billing date, Cloudinary will attempt to collect the outstanding debt. You will be notified if the payment fails.
- 14 days after your billing date, Cloudinary will attempt to collect the outstanding debt. You will be notified if the payment fails and a deactivation date will be added. The account is then set to be deactivated in 7 days.
- 17 days after your billing date, Cloudinary will attempt to collect the outstanding debt. You will be notified if the payment fails and the email will include the original deactivation notice.
- On the day after the specified deactivation date, Cloudinary will, one last time, attempt to collect the outstanding debt. If it fails, the account is then deactivated.
When a payment fails, you can check with your credit card issuer:
- If the card has enough balance.
- If the card has a single payment limit, and if it's higher than the amount processed.
- If the card is properly set for online subscriptions.
- If Cloudinary is whitelisted.
If you need any assistance regarding your payment, please reach out to our support team and we will be happy to assist.
