When going to the security tab of your account settings, you may notice a section called Restricted media types
. This section refers to the restriction of creating new resources via unsigned requests, that are associated with those types.
By default, certain types may be restricted in order to protect your account and quotas from being abused or misused by others. For example:
-
Fetched URL
will automatically be restricted if the fetch feature hasn't been used for one week following the creation of a new account. -
Resource list
, associated with our client-side resource list feature will also be restricted.
Example
When the Uploaded
option is selected, only signed upload requests will be approved, and all unsigned requests, like auto-upload, unsigned uploads via the API, or unsigned uploads via our Upload Widget will be restricted.
Note:
- A restriction is in place if the box is checked, uncheck it and the type will be allowed.
- Checking/unchecking a box immediately takes effect but broken URLs may be temporarily cached on the CDN.
- Restrictions are only enforced when accessing new non-existing assets (pre-existing ones will remain available).
- Restrictions can always be bypassed using signed URLs, even if the specific type is checked.

I assume this has changed. Where can i find these settings now?
Hi Toon,
I think you have created an account under the Media Optimizer product.
Could you please create a support ticket for us thru: https://support.cloudinary.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?
Kindly provide your cloud name in your ticket so we could check it.
Thanks,
Francis
