In our research, many developers who use Cloudinary may prefer to use their command line for performing Admin and Upload API operations, instead of setting up a formal coding environment. Because of this, we have created the Cloudinary CLI (Command Line Interface).
With a simple Python installation, you can start running commands from your terminal to upload, manage and transform your digital assets with Cloudinary. The CLI also provides easy ways to create code for some of Cloudinary's popular widgets and asset delivery tools, such as the Upload Widget, Video Player and Product Gallery.
There are many resources about the Cloudinary CLI available to you:
- Introduction to Cloudinary's CLI training course with hands-on lessons
- Full documentation with command samples
- Blog post, explaining the purpose of the CLI with helpful video walkthroughs
- GitHub repository for the CLI
You also can test the Cloudinary CLI with this interactive Python terminal associated with our GitHub repository. Selecting its Run button will install the Cloudinary CLI in the testing environment and allow you to try some sample commands.
If you need any assistance when using the Cloudinary CLI, we recommend using the resources above or directly contacting our Support team.
