The Cloudinary app for Klaviyo connects your Cloudinary media library directly to Klaviyo, so you can drop optimized, on-brand images and videos into your email and SMS campaigns without ever leaving the Klaviyo editor. This guide walks you through what the app does, how to install it, and how to start using your media in campaigns.
What you can do with the app
- Browse your media library in Klaviyo. Search and select assets from your Cloudinary account directly inside the Klaviyo content editor.
- Insert optimized media automatically. Images and videos are delivered through Cloudinary's CDN with automatic format and quality optimization, so emails load faster and look sharp on every device.
- Apply transformations on the fly. Resize, crop, and adjust assets without creating separate files for each campaign.
- Keep a single source of truth. Update an asset once in Cloudinary and reuse it across campaigns with confidence.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the following ready:
- An active Cloudinary account with media uploaded to your library.
- An active Klaviyo account with permission to install and manage integrations.
- Your Cloudinary cloud name and API credentials, available in your Cloudinary console under Settings > Account.
Installing the app
- In Klaviyo, open the Integrations page from the main navigation.
- Search for Cloudinary and select the app from the results.
- Click Add integration (or Install).
- When prompted, sign in to Cloudinary and authorize the connection between the two accounts.
- Confirm the connection. Once authorized, the Cloudinary media picker becomes available in the Klaviyo content editor.
Adding media to a campaign
- Create or open an email or SMS campaign in Klaviyo.
- In the content editor, add or select an image or video block.
- Choose Cloudinary as the media source.
- Browse or search your library, then select the asset you want to use.
- Apply any transformations (such as resizing or cropping) if needed, then insert the asset into your campaign.
Tips and best practices
- Let Cloudinary handle optimization. Use automatic format and quality settings so each recipient receives the best-performing version of your media.
- Organize with folders and tags. A tidy Cloudinary library makes assets much faster to find inside Klaviyo.
- Reuse transformations. Save commonly used sizes and crops as named transformations to keep your campaigns consistent.
Troubleshooting
- The media picker isn't appearing. Confirm the integration is installed and authorized, then refresh the Klaviyo editor.
- Assets aren't loading. Verify that your Cloudinary cloud name and credentials are correct and that the connection is still active.
- An image looks wrong in the email. Check the applied transformation, and make sure the original asset in Cloudinary is published and accessible.
