The Cloudinary WordPress plugin supports 2 modes to synchronize your assets with Cloudinary and benefits from all the features and functionality for delivering optimized and transformed media.
Auto-sync
The Auto-sync is the default mode and ensures that all of your WordPress assets are automatically synced with Cloudinary when they are added to the WordPress Media Library.
Here is a short video demonstrating how Auto-sync works:
When the icon is green on the WordPress Media Library, you should see the image as well in your Cloudinary account:
NB: When Auto-Sync is ON, requesting an asset from the frontend will also sync the asset to Cloudinary which is particularly useful for large libraries.
Manual-sync
When the Manual-Sync is ON, you are in control of which asset is synced or not. Note that assets that are not synced have a black Cloudinary icon in the WordPress Media Library. To synchronize an asset with Cloudinary, you have 2 options:
- Hover a specific asset you would like to synchronize and click on Sync and deliver from Cloudinary.
- Select a list of assets you would like to synchronize then select the Sync with Cloudinary bulk action and click on Apply.
Here is a short video demonstrating how Manual-sync works:
Until the icon isn't green, you won't see the image in your Cloudinary account and as soon as it gets synced, the image will appear:
