Is there a way to detect background color?

As we are using the colors API, it usually return the background color as one of the image colors, so we want to detect the background color to remove it from the colors array.

  Sorry for the very late reply, we have noticed that this request was left unattended. I guess this is not relevant anymore but for future reference - 

  You can get a list of the predominant colors and a color histogram by setting the colors parameter to true.
