Can I watermark/overlay my images with text based on IPTC/EXIF data?

Hello!

We are looking for a solution that will credit images to the photographer who created them, by compositing or watermarking the photographer credit onto the image itself.

We'd love to do this by embedding the photographer and copyright information into the image itself as IPTC or EXIF metadata and then using this embedded information to create the watermark/overlay, instead of having to supply text separately when requesting the image. Is this possible using the Cloudinary platform?

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late response.

    Automatic overlay with text based on image metadata is on our roadmap, while no ETA at the moment. We'll update here as well when this feature is ready.
    In the meantime you can do it by using the API - get metadata and create the derived image accordingly.
