Plugin Cloudinary v. 2.0.0-beta doesn't work with WordPress 5.2.4
Hello,
I'm updated version WP on my website to 5.2.4 and now Cloudinary plugin does not work. On previous version WP it works perfectly.
How can I solve this problem? How soon do you plan release new version of your great plugin?

Thank you for your feedback.
We are checking this inquiry and will update as soon as we will have any updates.

I can confirm that Wordpress 5.3 and Cloudinary 1.1.12 do not play together very well.
In the Select or Upload Media modal there is no Cloudinary tab! The only way images can be served from Cloudinary is if they're uploaded first to Wordpress and then migrated to Cloudinary.
Content uploaded directly to Cloudinary, even if from the Cloudinary:Media Library plugin interface, will not be accessible from the Wordpress Media Library modal. Please fix..

Hi Amanda,
We expect a new version (2.0) of the plugin to be released by the end of the month.
With the new plugin, uploading an image via the Upload Media modal of Wordpress 5.3 will automatically upload the image to your Cloudinary account as well, without having to manually click the "Upload to Cloudinary" button that is present in v1 of the plugin.
Meanwhile, if you wish to try out the beta version of the new plugin, please open a ticket via support@cloudinary.com and we will be happy to guide you on how to set it up.
Best,

Hi Rav. That is not the situation I flagged. You mention a (minor) friction point.
What I do exactly and what my expectations were:
Inside Wordpress, on the Media Library page FOR the Cloudinary plugin, I use Upload Images.. (top left) .. More upload options, Remote URL Upload.
I pull in content from deep Instagram links, but that's inconsequential. Said content makes it into the Cloudinary Media Library page in Wordpress, thumbnails are created etc. All seems good.
EXCEPT
There is no actual way to use them in Wordpress, because the Cloudinary Media Library doesn't have a tab in the Wordpress Media Library, as per your plugin documentation. It must have had it at the moment in time you created those instructions, but it's gone now on 1.1.12 running on Wordpress 5.3.
Can you replicate the above with your plugin at 1.1.12 and Wordpress at 5.3?
If yes, will 2.0 beta fix this issue? No point in opening a ticket if it doesn't.

Hi Amanda
The beta version of 2.0 does allow to insert resources directly from Cloudianry's media library to the WP's media library, and then, later on, use them in a post.
You could try the new beta version by downloading it from the below page:
https://cloudinary.com/documentation/wordpress_integration
I think you could try and test it on a dev environment as not to change the production environment and see if that fits your use case.
Would that work?

I can see why you would advise a sandbox, but the site isn't launched yet, so..
I now have the Cloudinary tab, but the UI is broken, it just hangs in there. The cloud does ...what clouds do when they look around for stuff I suppose. There's an animation there. I am set up with the
Cloudinary environment variable URL and also with the Cloudinary email address, which came up in Settings:General but has now disappeared from view.
Also, just peeking through the broken UI, I can see the assets/folders that are stored only in the Cloudinary Media Library, I can select their thumbnails, but the Select button (down-right) is greyed out, so no action.

Hi Amanda,
Do you see any errors in the console & network tabs of your browser's DevTool?
Can you please open a support ticket at support@cloudinary.com so we could further investigate the issue you're experiencing? Please share in your ticket any errors that you see, your current WordPress version, the operating system of your server, and any other plugin that you have installed on your environment in parallel with the Cloudinary's plugin?
Thanks,
