    Hi Dennis,

With version 2 of WP plugin, it is no longer necessary to migrate away. If you, for whatever reason, need to deactivate Cloudinary plugin v2, you can now do so without needing to migrate away.
Hope this answers to your question.

If you are planning to deactivate Cloudinary WP plugin, may I ask the reason behind it?

    Regards,
    Erwin Lukas

hello, i want to test my site without cloudinary..

    I have two problems...

    - My image file names in the media library are changed (even with the cloudinary plugin disabled!!!). How can i revert back to the original names that i had before linking them to cloudinary?

    - When i disable the plugin and try to open my website...most of the photos are missing..some thumbnails are present but most of them still waiting to be pulled from cloudinary ( which is disabled!! - i dont have any cache plugins active...).

For example, a link for an image with cloudinary plugin disabled :/wp-content/uploads/https:/res.cloudinary.com/cr3adive/image/upload/v1570717531/9154-Avene-Spray-Enfant-SPF30-Antiliaki-Prostasia-Gia-Paidia-Prosopo-Soma-200ml_gnvlgs.jpg

When i try to regenerate all thumbnails i get an error that 'the original file size was not found' (of course, since it is still looking for it in your CDN although i have disabled the plugin!!)

this site has about 4000 images and if the cloudinary plugin messed up all the file names it will be very difficult to manually re-upload all images..

    Thank in advance!

    Hi Panagiotis,

What version do you currently have installed on your environment?
When did you upgrade from version 1 and have you first migrated away from Cloudinary before upgrading or upgraded directly via the Marketplace without first migrating away?

    Thanks,
    Raz

hello, thank you for your answer..

I have the latest version of the plugin. The site is under construction for a few months. So i logged in a few days ago to do all the plugin updates.

Then i tried to deactivate your plugin and test media load speed without cloudinary and i noticed that the local media filenames are similar with those served by cloudinary (even though i de-activate and deleted the plugin). Some of the photos load correctly from the local path but most of them are trying to load from your cdn although there is no plugin active anymore!

I don't know if the problem existed before updating the cloudinary plugin but i dont remember having this problem a few months ago when i set up the site and connected to cloudinary...

    Hi Panagiotis,

I tried replicating your scenario by creating a couple of posts with an image from the Cloudinary Media library using the plugin and then deactivating the plugin (later deleted as well). I was able to load the WordPress post with image not breaking. When I load the image in a new tab it shows a WordPress local path as mentioned by you. I do not see the CDN path in the image.

It is possible those images with the CDN path were uploaded prior to upgrading the plugin?

    Best regards,
    Jay

Hello again, of course the images where uploaded before upgrading the plugin..

I setup the site in 2019, upload all images and then installed your plugin. The first times i deactivated your plugin and checked the site everything was working as expected( However, i had to regenerate all thumbnails again after deactivating your plugin for everything to work normally).

The project was then put on hold for about 6 months. Then, a few days ago i logged in an updated all plugins and then i tried deactivating the cloudinary plugin and noticed the problem with the changed filenames and wrong image paths.

I can give you admin access if you think it will help you clarify the problem..
