    @Jason Goncalves,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Assets can only be added directly from within the Media Library under your account. New assets can be added to your collections by choosing the Add to collection option. Start typing the name of the collection you want to add the assets to. When you see it, select it and the assets will be added to it.

    Best regards,

    Thanks Jay. So Collections aren't intended to be used via the APIs? I was hoping to let users on our site add images to their boards, kind of like they do on Pinterest. Collections seemed like an ideal way of managing that.

    Hi Jason,

    Collections provide a way to collaborate and share your assets internally, between your Media Library users. You can also share the collections with external groups that do not have access to your Cloudinary account, however, they will only be able to view and download the assets.

    Hope this better clarifies.

    Best regards,

    Millie

    Is this still the case?  It seems to make perfect sense to include this as a preset option.  I've been going through cloudinary's guides, documentation, forumns, and discord for hours trying to figure out how to auto-add uploaded media to a collection.  As far as I can tell, there is literally not a single place where this is actually stated as impossible to do progamatically via the upload api or widget.

    Hi Jacob,

    At the moment, collections are purely a DAM entity. They are not exposed by any public API.
    As mentioned by Jay, assets can be added from the Media Library in the Cloudinary console.

    Regards,
    Francis
