Renaming Files?

    Hi Pauly,

    You can do a `right click->Manage` on the asset and change the rename it at the top bar of the UI. And in case you need to move the file to another location (i.e., the folder name is part of the public_id), you can select the file and the menu bar will be shown. Select the `Move to folder` that is shown on the menu bar.

    Hi Eric,

    Thank you for your reply. I'm actually not sure where exactly I need to right-click on in order to bring the 'manage' option up for me to select it. The Public ID is what I think the name is so that's what I'm trying to find. Any advice? I'm happy for your to have a screenshot on with the area we need to right-click in circled.

    Hi Pauly,

    You can Manage or Edit the asset on the Media Library console as shown in the image below:

     

    To rename the asset, click on the Edit menu item as shown above to launch the Edit page:

     

    And because a public_id can contain the folder name as the prefix to the asset name, updating this value can be done by moving the asset to another folder:

    Hi Eric,

    Thank you, I appreciate the time you have taken with your screenshots, but I have a feeling we're on different platforms. I have also accessed the media library as you have done, but what you can see and what I can see are different. I have put the red border around the main differences. Are you able to advise how you can see your screen so I can get there as well? I am using Windows and Google Chrome to access cloudinary:
