Bulk uploading make browser crash
Hi,
I have a client who uses the Cloudinary backend to upload images. They regularly experiences that the browser crash while trying to bulk upload. They've tried uploading several folders with images, as well as single folders containing 10–15 images. Neither seems to work properly, while folders containing slightly less images (4–10) usually works..
They get a "page unresponsive" error, they don't get a proper indication on where the error lies, or if theres anything wrong with the images (they usually try to upload them in smaller batches and it works as expected). But it's not ideal at all. As the browser crashes mid-transfer, they don't know which files have been uploaded. So they would have to manually compare each folder..
The client has around 2000 images they would like to upload, so it would be great to be able to upload more images than 10 or less at a time.. ;)
Any suggestions?
The client uses Chrome on Windows 10.

Hi Andres,
Thank you for reaching out.
Would you please be able to share whether the upload is performed via the main Media Library user interface or is it via the Upload Widget installed on your web application?
Looking forward to your reply.
Thank you,
Millie

Hi, sorry for the late reply.
All uploads are done using the main Media Library on the cloudinary website, not via API or a plugin/widget. :)Thanks!

Hi Anders,
Thanks for confirming.
If you can replicate this behaviour consistently then may I please ask you to share some additional details (we'll then be able to get a better idea of how this happens.), specifically;
- Could you please create a short recording of your screen when uploading the assets that causes this issue?
- Are there any console errors when your client experiences this issue during the upload?
- Could you also try dragging and dropping the required folder/assets in the Media Library directly if you are using the "Upload" Button and vice-versa, does that also fail or it works?
- Does this issue happen when using Firefox or Edge on the same Windows 10 machine or only on Chrome?
Please feel free to include any other details which you think may be relevant as that'll help us in narrowing this down.
Best regards,
Aleksandar
