Wordpress Plugin Causing Issues on WP-Engine
We've gotten emails form WP-Engine that the Cloudinary plugin is causing some major server issues that are impacting other people. That's pretty big.
No idea what's going on, they asked me to reach out to you. Not certain why this suddenly started happening, but any support would be appreciated:

t appears that you are generating excessive calls to the following type of paths:
104.197.155.105 - - [04/May/2020:01:00:33 +0000] "POST /wp-json/cloudinary/v1/process HTTP/1.0" 200 117 "https://www.rocksaucestudios.com/wp-json/cloudinary/v1/process " "WordPress/5.4; https://www.rocksaucestudios.com "
And this is driving up the server load. You will need to ensure that you get these your rest API requests under control here and throttled properly or find an alternative as the amount of requests that have been coming in are taking long to process as well as causing the server's overall load to increase.
Second Contact:
We are seeing a high amount of admin ajax and wp-json requests been made, which is over utilising the server resources and causing performance issues.
Please see the sample request type and count below.

Hi,
This process is part of the background sync in action. They are responsible to syncing your assets from WP to your Cloudinary account. Once it's sync'd you should not see many of this again until you add/upload new assets.

Do you know why they would have such a massive impact on the other users on this server, though? We've never had WP-Engine reach out to us about Cloudinary in the past, so it was a bit of a surprise.

Hi,
This process should not causing a lot of resources since the syncing is running in serial.
Is the syncing already completed? If yes, do you still a lot of requests to this path?
Can you also share how many of the assets are sync'd?Regards,
Erwin Lukas0
