Best way to reduce file size of images already in my media library

I have numerous images that exceed 3mb and now I realize that I do not need any images that are that big. What is the best way to reduce the file size of an image that is already in my media library? Should I upload a smaller version for each image and overwrite the existing image?

  Hi Jackie,

  Yes, to update the existing resources in your cloud, you have to re-upload the image with `overwrite: true`.

  In the future, if you want to modify your assets before saving it, you can use incoming transformation or upload preset
