Same image displayed multiple times

I'm building an app that has a chat functionality on it. It's very convenient for the UX to display the user's avatar for each sent message, so the same picture (same version) would be displayed multiple times. 

I was wondering if this design will increase "Net Viewing Bandwidth"? So, to be more specific, is there any difference between displaying one image and displaying the same image multiple times in terms of Bandwith?

  Thanks for reaching out to us! Since the image would only be requested once, you will not incur bandwidth usage for multiple requests. Feel free to display the same image as many times as you need!
