 If I upload the images to Cloudinary and link from my site, will they be indexed by Google as part of my site or as part of Cloudinary?

  Hi,

  By default, our assets are delivered via res.cloudinary.com domain which is our CDN delivery domain and it should not affect your SEO rating badly, but actually increase your SEO because of faster loading times.

  In our Advanced plan and above, there's the option to set a CNAME for delivering assets using your own domain, but that comes with an additional monthly cost.
